Dayz after marriage~

Long time never blog liao. Dayz after my marriage is not any different when i'm single. We have been seeing each other everyday, going everywhere together and we even sleep together every night, so we are more like married couple even b4 our marriage. hahah...

The only thing that is different is, i'm now fully staying at Nald's hse and only going back to my parents' hse during weekends.

I still have lots of our stuffs at my parents hse but bcuz the room we are staying now is quite small so we are still headache on how to bring all our things back... no place to store them... maybe only until we got our own flat then we are able to shift out all our things from my parents' hse le.

Ya, Amber is also now staying at Nald's place. In the beginning, Nald's mom don wan but Nald insist(cuz her mom afraid of dogs) so his mom also agreed lor. Now, not only his dad & sis likes Amber very much, his mom also likes Amber liao. Cuz Amber is just tooooooo cute liao. ahhaha... They are always looking for Amber to play with. Nald's parents even changed Amber soiled newspaper le.. i'm so touch~ so happy that they accepted Amber.

At the moment, we are planning our honeymoon venue then look for flat after that. So any other things, wait till after honeymoon then say. hee...

Our BIG day 01.11.2009

Finally the headache is OVER!!!......the wedding did went smoothly except for some minor hiccups here and there.....BUT other than these....it's juz Puuurrrfect!!!

Heres the chain of events that happen thru-out the wedding.

31.10/0900hrs: Sean, Elica and myself woke up early on the eve of the wedding to go polish the bridal car for the big event...reached there around 0930hrs and waited more then 2 hours for the job to be done.....both cars polished sweeswee! so next stop.....Bridal car make-over....haha!

31.10/1300hrs: Called Bridal shop and was told they cant tie the bridal car too early, request to go there around 1830hrs.....sianz....too bad have to go home loh.

31.10/1800hrs: Hiccup #1!!! Left home with Sean to Bridal shop....sky turns darker and gonna rain soon. Both of us hurried to AMK hoping to siam the rain....too bad by the time we reached there....its raining cats and dogs!

31.10/1920hrs: Hiccup #2!!! After decor the Bridal car, we slowly drove back home for dinner. Reached the expressway exit and this stupid police "ANG" car stopped at the exit blocking off the first lane!!!....bloody stupid!.....all cars gonna slowly filter out to the second lane to exit.....juz as its my turn to exit.....BANG!!!!!........someone rear-end my bridal car!.....and the culprit.....SEAN!!!!!

31.10/1945hrs: Reached MSCP and survey the damage....right side rear door dented with bumper paint chip-off.....can't control my temper and kept screwing Sean!.....@##%&^$!

31.10/2030hrs: No mood to eat dinner liao....wedding mood totally ruined! thought of the car damages really makes my blood boiled!....really regretted!.....dun feel like eating and resting at all...really wanna kill SOMEBODY!

31.10/2200hrs: Called and informed Tin.....can know that she's sad and disappointed with the bad news....but at least she also tried to calm me down.....thanks dear!

01.11/0200hrs: Kept rolling and flipping in bed....can't sleep at all!! keep thinkin WHY all these gonna happen on the Eve of the BIG day!!!.....luckily Rong called and chit chat with me....thanks bro!

01.11/0630hrs: Woke up, wash up and quickly shift the bridal car back to the carpark....met Rong downstairs.....damn on the ball my emcee....haha!

01.11/0700hrs: The rest of the brothers starting to arrive. As usual.....tok cock sing song and have some funz....great to have them around. Briefed them abit of the procedures, roles and plans of fetching the bride.

01.11/0800hrs: Weather looks excellent....think it's bcos of the heavy downpour the previous night. Finger-crossed.

01.11/0900hrs: Timekeeper(Zhihong) ordered move out timing....Left home to Fetch bride loh!!!!!

01.11/0930-1330hrs: Standard Operational Procedure- kana tekan, give $$$, met bride, served tea to elders, pray ancestral and return back home.

01.11/1500hrs: Reached Amara and everyone finally got the chance to catch some breathes. Bride starts make-up @ 1630hrs. Some briefing to the brothers and bridesmaids on the roles for the dinner. Everybody damn PRO and know their task well....thanks all!

01.11/1700hrs: Met hotel banquet manager and stuffs for the final briefing on the dinner....rehearsed the songs and montage and also the emcees....all good to go!

01.11/1900hrs: Show time!!! First wave of guests arrived for cocktail session. Bridesmaids start to busy....thanks Maureen, Beeleng, Huiling, Joanne, Shindy and the rest galfriends.

01.11/1930hrs: Ballroom door opened.....Reception area fully packed...some guests feel uncomfortable liao.....gonna push some guests into the ballroom liao. STRESSED!!!! Photos and musics start to play....thanks Miguel!

01.11/2000hrs: Hiccup #3!!! Bridal's side of initial 14 tables...only 12 confirmed!......left 2 empty tables! Luckily my side relatives not enuff seatings......push them to 1 table and left the other as reserved.....thanks Raymond for the coordinating! and also TuanKai for the control of the beer and red wine despite some guest unhappiness.

01.11/2030hrs: Bride arrived. Photo montage and First march-in starts!....nice!

01.11/2130hrs: Hiccup #4!!! Before second march-in.....updates from Raymond & TuanKai that beer running out!!!!? kaoz.....only 3rd dish and 1 barrel of beer no more liao!.....no choice open another barrel.....kaoz!.....cost me $700++.

01.11/2200hrs: After finishing my speech. Photo-taking time loh......Chopchop sweeswee we completed the whole sequence of 43 tables in less than 40 minutes!!?.......even photographer also speechless with the brothers efficiency. Another thanks to Khoonwah, Junlong, Zhihong, TuanKai, Andrew and Raymond!

01.11/2245hrs: Spare time to roam around and thanks the guest.....kana force to drink hard liqour....instead of helping me, guide me to RSeries table for more liqour!....thanks Sean ya!

01.11/2255hrs: Hiccup #5!!! Update from TuanKai....None of my 3 cartons of Red wine are consume.....diaoz.....waste my $$$$ sia! Who told me no people drink beer nowadays ya??!

01.11/2300hrs: Thanks and sent off all the guest. Token of appreciation to the Brothers and not forgetting the powerful combi emcee of Zhirong and Lina....thanks both!

Total damages of the wedding:.......ZERO DOLLAR....wahahahaha!!! Never thought a wedding banquet in hotel can break-even....Guess all well ends well....now my next headache is the repair for the car liao....haiz!

A very big thank u to all our bridesmaids & groomsman for the wonderful help that made our wedding event a successful wan!

An Chuan aka 壓床

Finally after much hurdles....our last wedding procedures was completed Yesterday. And its Setting up the Bridal Bed (壓床An Chuan). The furniture were suppose to arrive on the 17th but due to the "last minute" changes to the Hindu calender....it falls on Deepavali so have to postpone to last Sat 24th instead! Then on Friday....the shop called if can deliver on 27th instead...for goodness sake my An Chuan on 25th loh! kaoz!

Called Nova to complain and went down after work on Friday to double confirm....heng heng everything delivered sweeswee on Sat. If not my head gonna turn BIG again!

Okok stop complaining liao...let me briefly explain wats An Chuan here for the future couples....

Traditionally, a good/auspicious date is selected to move the bridal bed into the right place. Here, usually a man that has good or reasonable fortune (health and money) will help to setup/position the bridal bed. Afterwards, the bed will be left untouched until the day of the wedding. This procedure is often or usually done a few weeks before the actual wedding date. After the bed has been moved to it's right place, a MALE healthy child e.g. relative's son will be invited to lie and roll over the bed to signify fertility and the hope that the couple will have a MALE son. Red beans/green beans, lychee, dates, peanuts, oranges and other fruits are often scattered onto the bed. Usually, the types of offerings depends on the season and varies from different regions and dialect groups.

This practiced is still done during modern times. The only difference is that this procedure is done sometimes even on the eve or day before the wedding or on the same day of the sending the formal gifts (过大礼Guo Da Li) or even a few weeks prior to Guo Da Li. Nowadays, so long as this is done, there is no issue as to doing it on a specific date.

Ideally, a new bed is used. However, we can understand that some couples may not be able to afford to buy a new bed e.g. King or queen sized bed. Thus, if really no choice then, an existing bed can be used. However, I am sure the couples should be able to afford new linen. Avoid two single beds joined together. If an existing bed is used, try to shift it slightly away from it's original position. (Nice-to-have).

Guo Da Li aka 过大礼

Honestly I had no idea what was it about until the run-up to the wedding, haha. . . . It’s actually a traditional Chinese custom where the two families exchange bridal items to symbolize their blessings for the couple and also for good luck. Our families actually discussed the items to be exchanged a few months back during the food tasting @ Amara.

I went forth with the bridal gifts last Friday!...Specially took a day leave to do our Gua Da Li....can't imagine the amount of things to bring to Tin's place......42 boxes of cakes plus 10+ of Teochew biscuits is already a killer for the car boot space liao....imagine another 30 cans of pig trotters and a basket of oranges! Luckily my sis Elica tagged along to help out....if not i dunno need to make how many trips bringing all the items up loh.

Betrothal Gifts:

1) 2 pairs of Dragon & Phoenix candles

2) 42 boxes of wedding cakes

3) 30 cans of pig trotters

4) 2 bottles of Martel

5) 20 oranges

6) Si Dian Jin

7) Angbao containing Dowry

The cakes and biscuits alone took up all the boot space of the MPV loh!

The MUST for all brides...."Si Dian Jin"

The Dragon & Phoenix candles candles, 2 bottles of brandy, Basket of oranges and the cans of pig trotters!!!!

And not forgetting the 42 boxes of cakes + biscuits!

Again....it’s a tradition to give wedding cakes to the bride’s family, who will then distribute the cakes to their relatives to inform them of their daughter’s marriage. Wah....good luck to Tin' elder brother liao....alot of places to give out all 42 boxes wor...hee!

And guess wat i got in return for all the stuffs......hehehe!

So guys out there.....be mentally prepared for this when its your turn....ha!

Returning Gifts aka Hui Li:

Tin's parents accepted the gifts and return part of the dowry and gifts..

2 bottles of orange juices - in exchange for the hard liquor
A portion of Dowry..
Some boxes of wedding cakes
6 cans of pig trotters
2 Phoenix candles - They (bride’s family) keep the Dragon candles. To be lighted on actual day.

There’s also a lot of items to be bought by the bride’s family to give to the Groom's family.  It includes a tea set for the tea ceremony, the bridal lamps, bridal quilt, bridal bedsheet, even a bridal basin to bathe our kids in next time.....Less than two weeks to go before our Big Day, can’t wait for the day for us to begin the rest of our lives together....hee!

ROM down, Customary to go

We had done with our ROM today... finally.. with so many hipcups in the past few mths.. finally 1 is down. Now the other big headache is our Actual day customary... Hopefully it will go smoothly too~ Pray hard!

And i finally gotten my result for my computing! Passed 2 and failed 2... i thought i would have pass 3 subject wan... but never mind, i still got a cert as long i passed 2 of them! Hee... So happy!

Finally got my result!

I finally got a call from BMC that my result is out so we went there today to collect.

Nald drive and we went thru 2 ERP (correction....its bloody 3 times!!! plus exit 2 times!!!...total 5 times ERP!!!!) and wasted a carpark fee... and Nald got so fed up and kept cursing in the car... i just kept quiet cuz no matter what i said he will still be angry wan but anyway, we finally reach Plaza Singapura, we parked and went to my school at Mcdonald Hse.

I was very nervous while waiting for my certs to be given to me... the guy still said that i did badly! Ta ma de! Really frightened me till i got headache le and my heart is almost pounding out from my chest! When i look at my result slip and saw that i passed! Not only did i pass with credit, the 1st paper, biz practice that i failed b4, i got pass with distinction!!! I really cannot believe! I'm so glad that i finally passed but still got the computer paper result not out yet lor... don know why so long.

Anyway, on the way there, Nald said if i passed, we will eat Manhattan Fish Market!!! but if i fail, we will eat Long John Silver. Hee... We had our breakfast cum lunch cum dinner at Manhattan Fish Market lor! Wahahahah... Thanks for the support dear. Love u~
